The River Wye flows from its source into West Wycombe's six acre lake and eventually reaches the River Thames just outside Maidenhead. Our Fishing days take place on the lake and tributaries in the grounds of West Wycombe Park. The lake and river are well stocked with Brown and Rainbow trout with the average catch weighing in at 1.5lbs. However they can sometimes run to as much as 5lbs and on occasions for those lucky anglers even more. We restrict our activities to fly fishing only, using nymphs and dry flies. We ask that all trout be returned to preserve the eco system and stocks.
The Fishing facility extends to some six acres, comprising the main lake and the river system which is in the shape of a swan. The water itself is usually crystal clear and abundant in insect and other life. The wider Park area teams with all manner of wildlife including kingfishers, ducks and red kites.
For those just starting out, our highly experienced and well-versed Gillies will guide you through the complexities of fly fishing, providing all who want with some expert and friendly tuition. Our aim is for everyone to catch a fish!
As mentioned although we do ask that all trout be returned, rods may keep the odd fish or two, especially if it is their first time out!
