My wife and I had last weekend away in Marlow, before which I had read reviews about the Vanilla Pod, and for once the hype wasn’t misplaced. My wife is coeliac and when she asked what items were gluten free on the menu, the staff said to choose what she wanted and they would adapt the dish, that’s what I call service! Usually it’s a case of having to eat what she can have, not what she wants. From the moment we entered the restaurant until the moment we left, the staff could not have been more helpful or attentive, they are a credit to the Vanilla Pod. Finally, what can I say about the food, apart from it was the best meal we have had for a long, long time, and it was a wonderful dining experience. I only wish we didn’t live so far away, or we would be regular diners. Many thanks,
Tom Fahey

Our preferred fine dining partner is the Vanilla Pod in Marlow, 2011 Regional Winner of the Good Food Guide Reader’s Restaurant of the Year Award. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, perfectly able to cater for both small and large parties, to either a selected or pre-set menu in both the main restaurant area or a private dining room.

The Vanilla Pod’s discreet dining room is tucked away behind the elegant black door in Marlow’s West Street. Once home to T.S. Eliot, one of the most distinguished literary figures of the 20th century, the elegant home has been transformed into a modern, stylish restaurant. Rich colours and clean lines give a contemporary and luxurious feel, reflecting the outstanding quality of the food. Sociably round tables with high backed chairs give a sense of privacy and spaciousness. Sophisticated air conditioning has also been installed to further enhance comfort. The kitchen is run under the watchful eye of Chef Proprietor Michael Macdonald, who uses local produce to inspire a creative and extensive menu changing frequently, which you can enjoy in the main dining room or the upstairs T.S. Eliot private dining room.
The restaurant is situated in Marlow, Buckinghanshire, a lovely town with a magnificent suspension bridge over the Thames, a charming high street with a large number of small, independent shops and beautiful Georgian architecture. Marlow’s atmosphere has also inspired many writers and it has fascinating literary heritage.
